Volunteer Start Dates in Kenya.
Volunteers should be 18 to 70 years of age. Children below the age of 18 who wish to volunteer in our program should have permission from their parents. Children below the age of 16 must be accompanied by one or both of their parents to our program. Applications should be received at least two weeks in advance to organize a volunteer work placement and accommodation for the volunteers. Volunteers who wish to combine their volunteering experience with Safaris can do so and this can be organized during your placement.
Volunteers pay volunteer fees to help sustain and cater for local projects and programs that KVCDP support in local communities. Your volunteer fees enable us to directly contribute to the goals and needs of your placement. The resources within which KVCDP is working with are very much limited and cannot support your costs for meals, accommodation, transportation and supervision.
ARE WE ABLE TO DO ANY TOURS?
Volunteering is quite intensive and volunteers are advised to take short breaks during their volunteer time to do sightseeing e.g. kit-mikai, Traditional home set up, Boat-Riding etc. Kenya is the most beautiful country with lots of adventures and landscape one would want to explore before returning home. For low cost tours we recommend http://www.africahomeadventure.com that can always been helpful in organizing safari packages in both Kenya and Tanzania at affordable volunteer rates. African Home Adventure Limited and Enchoro Wildlife Camp Limited http://www.enchorowildlifecamp.com commits its 5% of the campany proceeds goes along to support KVCDP development programs in western Kenya.
