Sustainable Agriculture

Wagusu and Abimbo is faced with famine conditions due to crop failure and health challenges although the villages are on the lake shore, there is only one planting season.
Most planted crops here is maize of which many people prefer growing due to its long term sustainability.

Home Adventure Voluntary and Community Development Project has been promoting re-introduction of African indigenous vegetables and crops to ensure food security for the community and environmentally sustainable source of immune system-building fruits and vegetables and a viable source of income.

The organization's demonstration farm by the lake is used to train, educate and encourage the community to adopt environment friendly systems like organic farming to conducive farm economics on planning and timing in order to realize surplus for the whole year.

Home Adventure Voluntary and Community Development Project uses the produce to feed the orphans at the Community Resource Center and the HIV/AIDS patients who are not able to care for themselves. The excess surplus is sold to support the project sustainability.

We have also started a poultry farm raising chicken (layers). There is nothing better than a freshly laid chicken egg. You are probably familiar with the incredible egg when it comes to nutrition.

The children have it all from our poultry. The excess surplus is sold
to support the centre.
